The latest edition of Die-cast Diaries brings you full details of a spectacular new addition to the Aviation Archive range, which commemorates arguably the most famous fighter ace in the history of flight, Manfred von Richthofen.

With a full project overview and several exclusive images, we will see why this new model is already proving to be a huge success with collectors and why the Red Baron continues to hold such fascination for many.

On that new Diecast Diaries page there is a photo of a bare metal Ford casting with the caption

"The cast Escort Mk2 RS Mexico awaits some special painting attention"

It will indeed need a lot of special attention, particularly to prevent it looking like a Mk1 Capri .....

I think that promoting this Red Baron product as a special edition (commemorating the 100th anniversary of von Richtofen's death) is a brilliant idea.  Yes indeed, I have already pre-ordered mine.  However, I am asking what really makes special this new release so special ... at the point that Corgi people have decided to advertise this new Red Baron edition without showing the limit releases number.  Why ?

It is a "Special" edition, not "limited" no confirmed run number on this as more can be produced if needed.

Just in case anyone reads that now and wonders what I may have been drinking, the picture in question has now been quietly replaced with the correct one. Job done..

.

Yes, I noticed the wrong photo straightaway last Friday. Pointing out website errors to Corgi seems to be a bit hit and miss in my experience - e.g. I pointed out an error with their monthly wallpaper calendar 10 days ago and it's still not corrected. Whatever...

I emailed a private message to admin in August 2017 about a typing error in the vanguard article of that month ,told them they needed a proof reader , the word Pelleted should be Palleted still there.
